Introduction

Hello! welcome to the Game Tester blog of Glenn Lattiere. Here I will be posting videos and comments about the current games I am playing. The videos will show the bugs I have found on my own throughout game play. The comments will explain how to activate the bugs.

I am pursuing a career into the gaming industry as a QA Game Tester. I love playing games of all kinds. I graduated from the College for Creative Studies with a BFA, major in illustration. Game Testing isn't the only goal of mine in this controller grabbing industry. Future plans consist of becoming lead QA tester, concept artist, character artist and more. I plan to move up in the ranks as I bring prior knowledge to each job and perform better than before.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you not only enjoy this blog but learn something as well.

Prototype. bug 3

-BUG 3-

After acquiring a few more upgrades I came across a typo/grammatical error.

Under the “HEALTH REGENERATION” upgrade section there’s one upgrade available. It’s titled “REGEN RATE BOOST 1”

This is supposed to be titled “REGENERATE BOOST 1” The word “REGEN” is separated from the word “Rate” and it is spelled wrong. There is an “E” missing in the middle. I thought maybe it was a metaphor for Heath boost level 1. However, the word ‘REGEN” is not a word. Also, there are no other metaphoric phrases or altered words in the game so far. That leaves me to believe that this is a typo.

-BUG 2-

Continuing my search for the Collectibles I came across another bug. I fell into a section of water that made no movement or sound.

I performed three sample jumps to show what is supposed to happen when I enter water. I fall in, the water breaks up, forms a splash, makes the sound of a splash, and I am forced to jump back out of the water toward land.

The fourth jump is a bug. When I jump in the water there is no splash or sound. I just fall in and hop back out.

-BUG 1-

I just got this game and am really enjoying the features. I love the free roam mode.

When I popped this game in immediately I started roaming the city of New York for Collectibles and Hidden Treasures Hints.

During my search for the Collectibles I found a small bug. The Collectible was located on the edge of a small wooden dock. I already collected it so it’s not visible but the dock I jump onto is where it was located.

After Alex jumps onto the dock he walks toward two planks of wood that are about two or three feet apart from each other and the bug begins.

Alex falls between the pieces of wood and begins to shake and perform the animation as if he’s falling and landing onto something. Then Alex poses as if he’s standing on a rock and his begins to shake. The problem with this situation is that once Alex falls between the pieces of wood I didn’t touch the controller at all for about 25 seconds until Alex poses and stands still for a second.

I then walk back and try to perform the bug and Alex Falls forward multiple times until he falls into the water.

Prototype. Lighting effect

This video is not a bug. I just wanted to show the amazing lighting effect of the sky. This game features full day and night lighting effects. Sun rise - sunny skies – sun set – night skies.

I sped up the time of the video to see the transition of the sun easier.

It even features dramatic lighting effects from the skies. The sky changes colors according to the time of day.

It’s AWESOME!!!

Modnation Racers. bug 1

-BUG 1-

I just picked up this game up a few days ago and was excited to customize everything. I began the Career Mode and noticed a programming problem.

Objective 1- a) To advance = Finish the race in 3rd or better

b) For a payoff = Finish the race 1st and get 30,000 drift points

c) For a bonus = Finish the race 1st and get 3,000 drift points

Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? I did. The bonus is supposed to be the hardest challenge every race. In this case it’s the easiest. The Bonus and the Payoff should be switched. It should be:

Payoff = Finish the race 1st and get 3,000 drift points

Bonus = Finish the race 1st and get 30,000 drift points

Well, I raced and collected as many drift points as I could but made sure I didn’t collect over 30,000 worth so I could perform the bug right.

After winning 1st place and collecting more than 3,000 but less than 30,000 drift points I was awarded with the ‘Advance’ challenge and the ‘Bonus’ challenge. But how could that be? If the Bonus challenge is to receive over 3,000 drift points and I won the challenge of receiving over 30,000 drift points How could I not win the Payoff challenge of receiving at least 30,000 drift points? That’s when I realized it was a bug.

It’s supposed to be:

Advance = Finish 3rd or better

Payoff = Finish 1st with at least 3,000 drift points

Bonus = Finish 1st with at least 30,000 drift points

The point registry is correct but what’s displayed is incorrect. 3,000 needs to be under the Payoff and 30,000 needs to be under the Bonus.

inFamous. bug 3

-BUG 3-

I actually found this bug when I first played inFamous, but I traded it in. I recently purchased a used copy to post this video and for some reason, on this new disc I’m not able to do it exactly as before. However I was able to perform a similar bug only from the other side of the crate. I’m at the part where I enter a closed area of crates and traps set for Cole in his search to save his friend Zeke.

Objective 1- Continuously jump and then roll toward the corner of the inside of the crate and Cole will shift into the other side of the wall. As a result he will be inside of the crate.

While inside he can walk around but cannot exit the crate. I rotated the right analog stick to show a good view of him inside it.

The second part of the video shows Cole from inside the crate and when I tried walking out of the crate Cole froze and again could only rotate on a Y axis. Then I tried to jump while in the frozen position and he shifted below the surface of the entire level and remained stuck in mid air in a falling position. I then rotated the right analog again to show how Cole floated under the level. I then moved the left analog stick and he shifted back above ground level and back to normal.

inFamous. bug 1

-BUG 1-

During the beginning of inFamous Cole has just survived an enormous blast and is trying to find his way back to the other side of the bridge so he can be helped to safety. Instead of crossing the bridge I tried to take a shortcut to the bridge and noticed a sliding bug.

-Objective 1- Walk toward the right corner of the bridge next to the brick control station and jump on the thin platform that circles the station. Jump toward the corner of the brick wall and where it meets the thin platform as far as possible. Cole will react as if he is balancing on a thin pole and will begin to slide backward toward the street. He slides away from the wall in various speeds.

During the first successful jump Cole starts to slide very slowly but after about 6 seconds he almost falls into the water but elevates into the air about a foot above a small brick wall. Meanwhile floating in the air above the wall, he begins to slide at a faster speed. He then lands on the ground on the other side of the brick wall closest to the street and stops sliding. Throughout the entire slide I only moved the right analog stick to help show the view and speed of the slide.

During the second jump after I landed I moved the left analog stick toward the left of Cole and slid very fast toward the street. I still remained in the position of balancing on something but was on solid ground.

The third jump however, had no sliding in the beginning but I tried moving him a little and I was successful again.

The rest shows different tries at the sliding bug.

God of War 3. bug 2

-BUG 2-

Here in God of War 3 I have just defeated the Scorpion Boss and acquired the Boreas Icestorm. I then use it to open a gate that unleashes a gust of air that allows me to float vertically and reach higher ground.

-Objective 1- Float to higher ground and use the Boreas Icestorm again to shift the boxes of the Labyrinth.

Once I landed on the higher platform I climbed onto the edge of the box in search for hidden chests. When I moved as far as I could I tried climbing up the box and wasn’t allowed to. Kratos lifted himself up and returned back into the climbing position. (35 seconds into video)

Then I climbed back toward the platform and fell in between the wall I was climbing and the platform I was trying to land on. I then began to push all buttons to show that there’s no way of moving Kratos. I even activated Rage of The Spartans and nothing happened. (50 seconds into video)

I respawned and tried again. Only this time I walked straight into the crack between the boxes and fell through. Again I tried the opposite side of the box and the same thing happened. Once I grab the edge of the elevated platform and try to release I fall straight down in between the boxes and die.

The second video shows me walking slowly around the edge between both boxes and notice that Kratos is shaking oddly and rising up toward the lower platform (involuntarily). I am able to fall waist length down and walk slowly but if I keep trying to walk too far Kratos will shake and rise again or fall to his death. (3:50 seconds into video)

God of War 3. bug 1

-BUG 1-

Here in God of War 3 I am battling my way toward the top of Cronos. I have reached a part where Cronos tries to smash me with his hand.

-Objective 1- Avoid the shadowed areas to dodge being smashed by Cronos's hand. Once Cronos misses and grabs his own arm, jump onto the side of his finger, climb up, and kill the skeleton enemy. Cronos will then try to blow Kratos off of his hand with a strong gust of wind from his mouth.

-Objective 2- Block the gust of wind and activate the timed option to swing back onto his hand to avoid being blown away.

Instead of killing the skeleton enemy, I continued to run down Cronos’s finger and toward his wrist. Once I passed Cronos’s knuckle I got stuck on top of the second part of his finger and slid off of the side of it. I respawned exactly where I fell from and was not able to get back to the original section of Cronos’s finger (where the skeleton was). That’s where the video starts. Kratos is pretty small due to the perspective of the camera angle but I made efforts to show where Kratos’s position was in the video by jumping.

-If I try walking back toward the original part of Cronos’s finger Kratos will act as if he is falling with his hands in the air, legs spread to shoulder length, and looking down. Meanwhile, Kratos is still on top of Cronos’s finger. Also, Kratos shakes while his hands are in the air and begins to gravitate toward the edge of Cronos’s finger and then slides off the side of the finger.

-If I try walking toward Cronos’s wrist Kratos will fall straight through Cronos’s hand and die.

-If I try jumping onto the finger to the left Kratos will remain in the position of falling and slide right off of the other finger.

-If I try activating the timed animation that allows me to swing back onto Cronos it fails and Kratos falls to his death.

The way I have found to get out of this problem is to blind Cronos with the head of Helios. Cronos will Swing his hands back toward his face which frees Kratos and the game can be continued.
