Introduction

Hello! welcome to the Game Tester blog of Glenn Lattiere. Here I will be posting videos and comments about the current games I am playing. The videos will show the bugs I have found on my own throughout game play. The comments will explain how to activate the bugs.

I am pursuing a career into the gaming industry as a QA Game Tester. I love playing games of all kinds. I graduated from the College for Creative Studies with a BFA, major in illustration. Game Testing isn't the only goal of mine in this controller grabbing industry. Future plans consist of becoming lead QA tester, concept artist, character artist and more. I plan to move up in the ranks as I bring prior knowledge to each job and perform better than before.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you not only enjoy this blog but learn something as well.

Modnation Racers. bug 1

-BUG 1-

I just picked up this game up a few days ago and was excited to customize everything. I began the Career Mode and noticed a programming problem.

Objective 1- a) To advance = Finish the race in 3rd or better

b) For a payoff = Finish the race 1st and get 30,000 drift points

c) For a bonus = Finish the race 1st and get 3,000 drift points

Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? I did. The bonus is supposed to be the hardest challenge every race. In this case it’s the easiest. The Bonus and the Payoff should be switched. It should be:

Payoff = Finish the race 1st and get 3,000 drift points

Bonus = Finish the race 1st and get 30,000 drift points

Well, I raced and collected as many drift points as I could but made sure I didn’t collect over 30,000 worth so I could perform the bug right.

After winning 1st place and collecting more than 3,000 but less than 30,000 drift points I was awarded with the ‘Advance’ challenge and the ‘Bonus’ challenge. But how could that be? If the Bonus challenge is to receive over 3,000 drift points and I won the challenge of receiving over 30,000 drift points How could I not win the Payoff challenge of receiving at least 30,000 drift points? That’s when I realized it was a bug.

It’s supposed to be:

Advance = Finish 3rd or better

Payoff = Finish 1st with at least 3,000 drift points

Bonus = Finish 1st with at least 30,000 drift points

The point registry is correct but what’s displayed is incorrect. 3,000 needs to be under the Payoff and 30,000 needs to be under the Bonus.

inFamous. bug 3

-BUG 3-

I actually found this bug when I first played inFamous, but I traded it in. I recently purchased a used copy to post this video and for some reason, on this new disc I’m not able to do it exactly as before. However I was able to perform a similar bug only from the other side of the crate. I’m at the part where I enter a closed area of crates and traps set for Cole in his search to save his friend Zeke.

Objective 1- Continuously jump and then roll toward the corner of the inside of the crate and Cole will shift into the other side of the wall. As a result he will be inside of the crate.

While inside he can walk around but cannot exit the crate. I rotated the right analog stick to show a good view of him inside it.

The second part of the video shows Cole from inside the crate and when I tried walking out of the crate Cole froze and again could only rotate on a Y axis. Then I tried to jump while in the frozen position and he shifted below the surface of the entire level and remained stuck in mid air in a falling position. I then rotated the right analog again to show how Cole floated under the level. I then moved the left analog stick and he shifted back above ground level and back to normal.

inFamous. bug 1

-BUG 1-

During the beginning of inFamous Cole has just survived an enormous blast and is trying to find his way back to the other side of the bridge so he can be helped to safety. Instead of crossing the bridge I tried to take a shortcut to the bridge and noticed a sliding bug.

-Objective 1- Walk toward the right corner of the bridge next to the brick control station and jump on the thin platform that circles the station. Jump toward the corner of the brick wall and where it meets the thin platform as far as possible. Cole will react as if he is balancing on a thin pole and will begin to slide backward toward the street. He slides away from the wall in various speeds.

During the first successful jump Cole starts to slide very slowly but after about 6 seconds he almost falls into the water but elevates into the air about a foot above a small brick wall. Meanwhile floating in the air above the wall, he begins to slide at a faster speed. He then lands on the ground on the other side of the brick wall closest to the street and stops sliding. Throughout the entire slide I only moved the right analog stick to help show the view and speed of the slide.

During the second jump after I landed I moved the left analog stick toward the left of Cole and slid very fast toward the street. I still remained in the position of balancing on something but was on solid ground.

The third jump however, had no sliding in the beginning but I tried moving him a little and I was successful again.

The rest shows different tries at the sliding bug.
